Section 502: Provides financing to low and very-low income persons who cannot obtain credit from other sources, to obtain adequate housing in rural areas. Funds may be used to buy, build, rehabilitate, improve, or relocate an eligible single-family dwelling and/or improve related facilities for use by the borrower as a permanent residence. Please contact your local USDA Rural Development Service Office for more information on what qualifies as a rural area.

Section 504: Disperses loans and grants intended to assist very low income households in rural areas repair their homes. Loan funds may be used to make general repairs and improvements to properties or to remove health and safety hazards, as long the dwelling remains modest in size and design.
